I went to the South Island on January 31st. It has only rained one day so far, and the rest of the time it's either windy or sunny. There have been floods on the West Coast and the South recently, but these places are not on my itinerary. So far I have visited Christchurch, Tekapo, Pukaki, Wanaka, and my next stop is Queenstown. The weather forecast for Queenstown on the 8th is rain.
