Typically, you first ask the bank for a 4- or 6-digit password (PIN). If they say they don't have it, just press 0. My card uses a 6-digit alphanumeric password. When I go to a gas station that only accepts a 4-digit numeric password, I use four zeros.

I was following a local photographer from Reykjavik to Vik in Iceland, and she was driving at over 100 km/h the whole way.
