That's how I went. It takes about an hour to get to Heathrow Airport by subway. We came back on a late 8 o'clock flight by Air China. We just didn't have time to refund.

It's best not to go to the airport in London on the same day. Last time, the train stopped at York due to a communication signal failure, and we were forced to get off the train and transfer to another one to London from Manchester. What was supposed to be a four and a half hour journey ended up taking over 8 hours. Luckily, I didn't have a flight to catch that day.
