The choice of transportation depends on where to stay. I was in Bangkok a few days ago and stayed near Khao San Road. Khao San Road, Wat Pho, the Grand Palace, and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha are all close together. I suggest walking so you can see the street life and attractions.
