Introduction

The castle, built in 1299 and located near the town hall, was a royal residence renovated by Christian IV. However, the castle gradually declined in the 17th and 18th centuries until repairs and reconstruction began in 1899. Visitors can learn about Oslo's rich history here and enjoy the beautiful harbor views, including Aker Brygge, from above.
