Introduction

Kerið Crater Lake is located in the volcanic region of western Iceland and is one of the seven crater lakes in the area. Formed approximately 6,500 years ago, this crater lake has a depth ranging from 7 to 14 meters. Unlike other crater lakes, it has only one relatively gentle rock wall, allowing visitors to approach the lake surface. Due to its high mineral content, the lake water is crystal clear and exhibits vibrant colors that change with the sunlight.
