Introduction

Shiroi Koibito, also known as "White Lover," is one of the most famous desserts in Hokkaido. It features two crispy cookies sandwiching a rich white chocolate filling. This pastry can be found in gift shops throughout Hokkaido. The birth of Shiroi Koibito dates back to the early 1980s when Hokkaido farmers started using local milk to create white chocolate. Ishiya Seika, a local confectionery manufacturer, saw this opportunity and developed the new pastry. They used the technique of sandwiching cookies with white chocolate to make Shiroi Koibito. The Sapporo Shiroi Koibito Chocolate Factory is a place full of history and exploration. The red brick building gives off a fairytale-like English castle vibe. You can navigate between floors to see the chocolate-making process, learn about the collection and history of chocolates. Here, you can also purchase authentic Shiroi Koibito and experience the joy of making chocolates. Additionally, the Shiroi Koibito Park is also an interesting place with a rose garden, a café, and a toy collection exhibition hall, perfect for those who appreciate delicious treats and nostalgia. The park is a dreamy place themed around the story of this delightful dessert.
