Introduction

Located in the Mývatn Lake area of Jökulsárgljúfur National Park in northeast Iceland, Dettifoss Waterfall is a stunning natural wonder. It sits on the Jökulsá á Fjöllum river, which runs into the Jökulsárgljúfur canyon, and originates from the Vatnajökull glacier. The waterfall spans about 100 meters wide and is 44 meters tall, making it one of the highest and most powerful waterfalls in Europe. In the summer, its flow can reach up to 500 cubic meters, leaving visitors in awe.
