Introduction

The new building of the Guizhou Provincial Museum is located in the north side of the middle section of Lincheng East Road, Guanshanhu District, Guiyang City. It faces the Guiyang International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Guiyang Urban and Rural Planning Exhibition Hall across the road, presenting a coordinated skyline and architectural style with a total investment of nearly 600 million yuan. The building is divided into three parts: east, middle, and west. The east area is the public service area, including temporary exhibition halls, intangible cultural heritage exhibition and performance halls, photography and painting exhibition halls, 4D cinemas, digital experience halls, teaching and conference rooms, and other functional rooms. The middle area is the core functional area, with the first and second floors being the basic exhibition hall for "Guizhou's Ethnic Groups" and the third floor for "Guizhou's History" exhibition hall, as well as halls, restaurants, and warehouses for cultural relics. The west area is the museum's administrative office area. After nearly 60 years of development, the total number of collections in the Guizhou Provincial Museum has exceeded 80,000. Among them, ethnic cultural relics are the highlight of the museum's collection, standing out from others. The China Miao Costume Library and the China Miao Silver Jewelry Library are ranked first in the country. In addition, the ancient fossils of Guizhou, relics unearthed from the Paleolithic age, and various other cultural relics reflecting the local history and cultural diversity are also highlights of the Guizhou Provincial Museum.
