Introduction

Potala Island is located in the southwest of Leting County, with a total area of 2.34 square kilometers. It is named "Potala Island" because of the large growth of Bodhi trees. The area is an international bird watching base, a provincial ecological tourism demonstration area, and a scenic spot. Legend has it that Tang Taizong Li Shimin once stayed here for 19 days, so people call it "Nineteen Clumps". The average temperature in July is 25℃, which is pleasant and very suitable for summer vacation. The natural environment of Potala Island remains in its original state, with a vegetation coverage rate of over 98%, and over 260 species of plants. It is also a paradise for birds, with 408 species of birds living here, including rare species such as black-tailed gulls and short-tailed albatrosses, which are extremely rare in the world. Because there are no residents living on the island, the population is sparse and very quiet and pleasant. When visiting Potala Island, visitors can take electric cars, ride tandem bicycles, or walk. In addition, there is a Buddhist temple on the island, which attracts many tourists to come and worship.
