Cao'e River is a provincial-level scenic area located in the middle and lower reaches of Cao'e River in Shangyu City, 26 kilometers away from Shaoxing City. It covers a total area of 40 square kilometers. Cao'e River, formerly known as Shun River, was renamed after the filial daughter Cao'e jumped into the river to search for her father during the Eastern Han Dynasty. The riverbanks of Cao'e River are wide and the water flows gently, with a poetic and picturesque charm. In the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), it was a route for poets to travel and admire. Famous historical sites are distributed along the river in the scenic area, blending natural and man-made landscapes. The scenery along the river is beautiful, and there are numerous historical sites. Traveling upstream on Cao'e River by boat has always been a popular tourist route in Yuezhong. In this area, there is a town called Baimahu with Shunjing (Shun's Well) and Shun's trails surrounded by green mountains. There is also Zhujiazhuang, the hometown of Zhu Yingtai along the river. Dongshan, where Xie An, a famous statesman in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, once lived, has gained fame both in China and abroad. The temple of Cao'e, located by Cao'e River, was built to commemorate the filial daughter Cao'e and was first built in the Song Dynasty (960-1279). It is grand and magnificent, with numerous carvings and plaques and couplets donated by famous people, and is known as the "number one temple in the Jiangnan region". The ancient porcelain kiln sites in the Shangpu area are also known as the birthplace of Qing porcelain in the world and are worth a visit. There are also many other scenic spots such as Fengming Cave and the former site of the Beiche Conference.

Overall, the taste is decent, but the portion size is slightly small. The boiled chicken has a good flavor and the meat is not too tough. The braised tofu is made with tender tofu and tastes good.
