At the intersection of Zhongshan Road, opposite the west gate of Tinglin Park, inside the alley, there are quite a few private rooms in the tavern, each of which is not very big, but the food is delicious and business is good. The fish head tastes great, and the carrots inside taste even better. The blood in the chicken soup is fantastic. The soy-braised crab is a new way of eating, with a sweet and savory taste, but eating crab can be troublesome. The salted meat and vegetable rice is highly recommended, very fragrant, and there are many other dishes, all of which are good.

The environment is decent, it's an old-established restaurant in Suzhou, serving authentic Suzhou-style dishes. It's crowded, but the cost performance is relatively high. Although the sound insulation is not great, the waiters are particularly enthusiastic. The dishes taste great and the portion sizes are generous. The location is also good, right beside the Panmen Scenic Area.

Yiyuan is located at No. 43 Renmin Road (now No. 1265), with a current area of 6270 square meters. Yiyuan was built during the Qing dynasty, and is divided into east and west parts. The west part used to be a temple, and the south part was accessible as a residence. Yiyuan covers an area of only over 8 acres, with a clever and varied layout. The east part was originally the old residence of Wu Kuan, a minister of the Ming Dynasty, and the west part was expanded by the Gu family. A double corridor separates the east and west parts, with walls decorated with flower windows, providing a particularly deep and winding view of the garden from both sides. The garden is adorned with many beautiful and natural-looking rocks. The walls throughout the garden are embedded with dozens of stone carvings of calligraphy artworks by famous artists from various dynasties, known as the "Yiyuan Calligraphy Collection".
