Introduction

This attraction is the best place for viewing in Christchurch and also a prime location for appreciating night scenery. From here, you can have a clear view of the entire Garden City, and even catch a glimpse of the New Brighton Pier stretching into the ocean. Although transportation may not be very convenient, it is best to drive or take a taxi to get here. On the way up the mountain, you will pass a Gothic-style old building called The Sign of Takahe. Before the earthquake, it was a cafe built in 1918 and holds significant historical significance for the people of Christchurch, like the city's eyes.
