Introduction

The history of the State Library of South Australia can be traced back to the South Australian Literary Association, founded in 1834, which is considered to be its predecessor. After several name changes, the library officially became the State Library of South Australia in 1967 and is located in the center of Adelaide, adjacent to the University of Adelaide. The library holds a vast collection of newspapers, books, rare documents, and over 65,000 children's books, as well as various non-book cultural artifacts.
