Introduction

Located in the state of New Mexico, White Sands National Monument is a desert formed by weathered gypsum, covering an area of approximately 300 square miles. The sand dunes here are continually shaped by nature, growing, reaching their peak, and then gradually collapsing, constantly changing their appearance. These huge wave-shaped gypsum sand dunes present a very spectacular scenery and are definitely worth a visit.
