Introduction
The University of Michigan was founded in 1817 and is one of the oldest public universities in the United States. In 1836, the campus was relocated to Ann Arbor. The university is globally renowned and ranked 14th in global university rankings. Additionally, the university's flag was planted on the moon by Apollo 15. The Michigan Wolverines are the only school team to have won national championships in basketball, ice hockey, baseball, and football. The main campus is located in Ann Arbor, covering 13 square kilometers, including the Central, North, and South campuses. In addition, the campus has 72 square kilometers of forests and wetlands, with a beautiful environment. There are many attractions on campus, including the Diag, the Michigan Union, the Michigan League, the West Hall Arch, the Huron River, the Burton Memorial Tower (home to the world's third-largest carillon), the Lurie Tower (home to the world's 17th-largest carillon), the Michigan Stadium (the largest stadium in the United States), the Detroit Observatory (the first modern observatory in the United States where Vega was discovered), the Nichols Arboretum, the Matthaei Botanical Gardens, the Wave Field (a work by Maya Lin), the Rubik's Cube, the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History, the University of Michigan Museum of Art, the Museum of Architecture, and the Law Library. Opening hours The Nichols Arboretum is open from 7:00am to 8:00pm, while the outdoor areas are open all day. Different indoor areas have different regulations depending on the building.
Transportation After arriving at Detroit Airport, you can drive, take a taxi, or take a long-distance bus (Michigan Flyer) to your destination. Some eastern cities can also be reached by taking a Megabus to Ann Arbor.
