Introduction

St. Louis Zoo is located in Forest Park, southwest of St. Louis, Missouri, USA. It covers an area of 90 acres and is one of the best animal protection zoos in the United States. The zoo was originally built on the site of the 1904 Louisiana World Exposition. Because some citizens who were concerned about St. Louis purchased a huge elliptical flight cage building from the exposition, the zoo was able to be established. Since its operation began in 1913, it has become one of the few remaining free-entry zoos in the world. The zoo has many animals from the African savannah, including lions, tigers, elephants, zebras, and giraffes, as well as a children's zoo where children can freely touch gentle animals such as goats and sheep, and a butterfly garden. Meanwhile, the zoo has specially designed many areas, allowing visitors to get closer to animals such as sea lions, wild boars, black rhinos, bush dogs, and anteaters.
