Introduction

Bixby Bridge, located in Big Sur, California, is a historic steel-reinforced concrete arch bridge built in 1932. It is located on Highway 1, 13 miles (21 kilometers) south of Carmel. The bridge spans 320 feet (98 meters) and is the longest concrete arch bridge on the California highway system. It is also one of the tallest concrete bridges in the world, reaching a height of 85 meters.
