Introduction

Philadelphia City Hall is located in the heart of downtown Philadelphia at the intersection of Broad St and Market St and is a historic public square. From the city's founding in 1682 until the construction of City Hall in 1871, it was a square. The City Hall is 167 meters high and was completed in 1901, becoming the tallest building in the world at that time, a record that was held until 1908. William Penn's bronze statue is erected on top of the City Hall, who is the founder of Philadelphia. The height of buildings is limited by the statue, but with the development of the city, people have begun to build high-rise buildings behind the statue. Today, the east side of City Hall still maintains its quaint appearance, while the west side is home to many towering skyscrapers.
