Introduction

Marina City is a residential and commercial mixed-use building located at 300 North State Street by the Chicago River in Chicago, Illinois, USA. It stands at a height of 179 meters (587 feet) and consists of two 61-story residential towers, a saddle-shaped auditorium, a medium-rise hotel building, and features cantilevered platforms and a dock on the Chicago River. Designed by architect Bertrand Goldberg, the building was completed in 1962 and resembles a corn cob, becoming a landmark of Chicago and frequently appearing in films and promotional materials. At the time, Marina City was one of the tallest commercial residential buildings in the world.
