Introduction

The University of Chicago is one of the most outstanding universities in the Midwest of the United States. Its predecessor was a financially struggling Baptist church school, which was on the verge of bankruptcy. However, after receiving a donation of eight million dollars from the oil tycoon Rockefeller, the school rose to become a world-class private university in the 1890s. The campus covers 200 acres and is filled with antique Gothic architecture. Chicago proposed the "Chicago Plan," focusing on avoiding excessive specialization in academic and vocational courses, which had a profound impact on the undergraduate education programs of other universities. The motto "Let knowledge grow from more to more; and so be human life enriched" aims to improve knowledge and enrich life. The macro and experimental spirit of education concept laid the foundation for its prominent position in American educational history. In addition, its position and contributions in academic research are also commendable.
