Introduction

The Willis Tower in the US is located on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower Skydeck, reaching a height of 412 meters, offering views of four American states on clear days. The building officials have revealed that hundreds of visitors each week leave forehead imprints on the observation deck's windows, inspiring the idea to build glass balconies. In June of 2009, four glass balconies were added to the west side of the observation deck, extending 1.2 meters outward. These balconies feature floor glass 12.7 centimeters thick, with a weight-bearing capacity of up to 5 tons. In the center of the first balcony, there is a camera specifically designed for paying visitors. The camera's position and angle allow for perfect recordings of the unique scenic views, from the head to the shoes of the person being photographed. Although photographers cannot use their own equipment to take photos, they can use their equipment freely on the balcony, and even provide advice on finding the best shooting angles.
