Introduction
The Sackler Gallery is located behind the Smithsonian Castle, adjacent to the Freer Art Museum. The art collection and exhibitions primarily come from Asia, with a focus on sculpture of Buddha, and it is affiliated with the museums under the Smithsonian Institution. The museum was named after Mr. Sackler, who donated over 1,000 exhibits and $4 million to the museum. 96% of the exhibition halls are located beneath the Enid A.Haupt Garden, which is behind the Smithsonian Castle. Transportation Take the Blue Line/Orange Line and arrive at Smithsonian station. Exit from the National Mall Exit and walk east (away from the Washington Monument) for 2 minutes.
