Introduction
The Roosevelt Memorial is divided into four different areas by stone walls, each representing a different historical period during Roosevelt's presidency. The first area features a relief of Roosevelt's inauguration, with handprints and faces carved into the stone wall to depict the desperation and panic of the Great Depression. The second area continues the theme of the "Roosevelt New Deal" and social welfare programs, showcasing sculptures by renowned artists George Segal and Robert Graham. The third area includes a larger-than-life statue of Roosevelt, dressed in a cloak and exuding strength and dignity. The fourth area is dedicated to Roosevelt's most important partner, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. Opening hours Monday to Sunday 8:30-23:30
closed on Christmas Day.
