Introduction
In 1846, the largest museum and art gallery federation in the world was established by British scientist James Smithson's donation, headquartered in Washington DC, the capital of the United States. The federation owns 19 free and open museums, art galleries, and national zoos, nine of which are located on both sides of the National Mall, including the National Gallery of Art, the National Air and Space Museum, and others. A complete list of exhibition halls can be found on the official website. The federation owns 140 million art and specimen collections, and has multiple research institutions dedicated to preserving cultural heritage and promoting cultural exchange. In addition, the federation also hosts colorful events such as kite festivals and photography competitions every year to bring more exciting experiences to the public.
