Introduction

Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is a branch of the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution located in the Chantilly area of Fairfax County, Virginia, adjacent to Washington Dulles International Airport. In 1999, co-founder and Hungarian immigrant Steven F. Udvar-Hazy donated $65 million worth of collections to the Smithsonian Institution. The center is more spacious and can hold some large exhibits from the National Air and Space Museum, such as the Blackbird spy plane, the Enola Gay B-29 bomber that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, and the Concorde passenger plane, among others.
