Introduction

The headquarters of the United Nations is located at the United Nations Headquarters building on the east bank of the East River in Manhattan. The complex consists of the General Assembly Building, the Secretariat Building, and the Dag Hammarskjold Library, and was built between 1949 and 1951. The land of the United Nations Headquarters is located in New York City, but is actually international territory. The Secretariat Building is the core building of the United Nations Headquarters and is located in the center. Visitors can visit the hall, but must undergo a security check similar to airport security procedures. The hall also provides Chinese-speaking tour guide services (Monday to Friday) lasting about an hour. On the underground floor of the hall, there is a United Nations post office where you can buy United Nations stamps and mail them.
