Introduction

The Los Angeles Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels is a Catholic church located in Los Angeles, USA, and houses relics of Saint Vibiana, introduced by Rome. Architect Rafael Moneo used postmodern architectural elements as the main design, creating a series of acute and obtuse angles, but with a lack of right angles. The modern sculpture decoration mainly consists of the bronze doors and the statue of Our Lady at the entrance. The church uses snowflake plaster instead of stained glass, resulting in soft, warm lighting inside. The organ is placed 24 feet (7 meters) high, with its top 85 feet (26 meters) above ground level. The lower level of the cathedral has a tomb with 6,000 crypts and niches, which can be purchased for use as a church's financial security by both the bishop and ordinary people.
