Smallest House in Britain, A Tiny Red Gem by the Sea

Quay House, 28 Lancaster Square, Conwy, LL32 8HT
4.1

Introduction

Quay House, located at Conway Wharf, is one of the smallest houses in the UK, built in the 16th century, only 1.8 meters wide and 3 meters tall. The house has two narrow rooms and an attic, with a single bed and a wardrobe, accommodating up to 4 people. Over the years, this petite red house has attracted thousands of tourists to come and visit. It is worth mentioning that the last resident of Quay House was a local fisherman who was 6 feet 3 inches tall and cannot stand up inside the house. In 1900, the house was deemed unsuitable for human habitation, so the fisherman moved out. However, the house still belongs to his family and has been managed by his descendants to this day.
