Introduction
The Canterbury city wall was originally built between AD 270 and 290, and the existing walls were rebuilt in the medieval period, reusing the foundation of the Roman era. The wall originally surrounded the city and had 8 gates, but now only half of the wall and the only gate, the West Gate, remain. There are dedicated footpaths on some parts of the wall, allowing tourists to walk along a 2.8-kilometer route and experience Canterbury's rich history and culture.
