Introduction

This building was completed in 1906 and witnessed the great success of Belfast's industrial revolution. The building is made of Portland stone limestone and is known as a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. The interior decoration features Italian marble and mural decorations, and the entrance hall staircase is carpeted in red. The city council chamber is decorated with oak. Visitors can take guided tours to learn more information. There are many sculptures in the surrounding gardens, and local residents enjoy sunbathing in the garden. In winter, the garden becomes a lively Christmas market.
