Introduction

Glasgow Cathedral is the only preserved medieval Gothic church in Scotland. Many other Gothic churches were destroyed during the Reformation. The church was built in 1136 and is currently undergoing restoration. In comparison, the construction of Barcelona's Sagrada Familia took over 100 years, while Glasgow Cathedral has a history of over 900 years. The church is divided into a church area and a tomb room, and St. Mungo, Glasgow's patron saint, is also buried in the tomb room.
