Introduction
The former Highland Tolbooth St John's Church, located on the south side of Castlehill in the Royal Mile of Edinburgh's city center, now serves as the headquarters for the Edinburgh International Festival Society-The Hub. The building boasts a striking neo-gothic tower and has become an iconic structure in Edinburgh's cityscape. The Hub features three main halls, with the main hall accommodating up to 420 people, making it an ideal venue for concerts, conferences, and even weddings. Designed by local Edinburgh architect James Gillespie Graham and renowned British Gothic revival architect Augustus Pugin, the building was constructed in 1845 and originally named the Victoria Hall, serving as a meeting place for the Scottish church. In 1995, the Edinburgh International Festival Society became the owner of the building, and after reopening in July 1999, it has been a popular destination for visitors and event organizers. Prior to the completion of the Scottish Parliament building, it also served as a temporary venue for the Parliament. Address Edinburgh International Festival The Hub, Castlehill Edinburgh, UK EH1 2NE
