Introduction
Westminster Bridge is an arch bridge spanning the River Thames in London, connecting the west bank of Westminster to the east bank of Lambeth. It is home to a number of famous landmarks, such as the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and the London Eye. The bridge was completed in 1862, replacing an older bridge in use since 1750. In 1981, the English Heritage Commission listed Westminster Bridge as a Grade II* registered building.
