Introduction

Villa d'Este is a typical Renaissance-style architectural complex located in the city of Tivoli, just a 15-minute walk from the train station. The villa is representative of the Italian Renaissance-style garden and is more commonly known in Chinese as the Palace of a Thousand Springs. Although the name does not directly relate to the villa itself, it vividly describes its characteristics: there are numerous fountains and decorative pools inside. The villa covers 4.5 hectares and has approximately 500 hot springs, including the Organ Fountain, the Fountain of the Chalice, the Oval Fountain, and the Owl Fountain. On hot summer days, strolling along the Hundred Springs Road, the sound of flowing water is refreshing. Water is the basic element that constitutes the villa, connecting natural landscapes and artificial facilities, allowing visitors to both cool off in the flowing water and appreciate the unique beauty of Villa d'Este, making it an excellent tourist destination.

January, February, November, and December: 8:30-16:00
April to September: 8:30-18:30
March and October: 8:30-17:00. Closed on Mondays, January 1st, and December 25th.
Open year-round on New Year's Day, March 1st, and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on a Monday, the garden will be closed and will reopen the next working day from 8:30 until 1 hour before sunset.
The organ fountain starts at 10:30, and the owl fountain performs every 2 hours starting at 10:00.
