Fontana Pretoria, A Fountain of Artistic Controversy and Beauty
Fontana Pretoria, 90133 Palermo, Italy

Introduction
"The fountain is surrounded by four bridges and stairs, and carved with the Olympian gods. It was originally located in the garden of the San Clemente Palace in Florence. In 1573, Palermo purchased the fountain and designed a square specifically to house it. However, due to the ambiguous expressions of the statues around it, the nude statue fountain was difficult to accept among conservative Sicilian churchgoers, and even considered a 'fountain of shame'."
