Introduction

The Po River (Italian: Fiume Po) is the largest river in Italy. It originates from Mount Viso in the Cottian Alps at an altitude of 3,841 meters, on the border between Italy and France. The Po River flows from west to east, then turns north at Saluzzo, passing through Turin and skirting the Monferrato hills. Turin is located upstream of the Po River and has many parks on its left bank, including historical and art museums. In addition, Turin is home to the University of Turin, established in 1405, as well as several engineering schools, the National Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory, and modern technology research institutes. The vegetation in the Po River basin is lush and the environment is beautiful, making it a popular destination for locals to walk, walk their dogs, and engage in other leisure activities. Moreover, there are many bridges that allow people to cross to the other side.
