Introduction

Superga Basilica is a magnificent building located on the Superga Hill near Turin, standing at an altitude of 672 meters. The church was built to commemorate the Virgin Mary and was ordered by Vittorio Amedeo II in 1706 to thank God for leading Turin out of a difficult situation by breaking through the siege by French and Spanish troops. It is worth mentioning that in 1949, the plane carrying the Turin football team crashed into the Superga Basilica in thick fog, and the graves of these football players can still be seen in the church's backyard to this day.
