The Siena Baptistry, located below the staircase to the north of Siena Cathedral, is a beautifully decorated building despite its unfinished Gothic facade. The interior is adorned with stunning frescoes, the most notable of which is the marble painting designed by Claudia di Giorgio, depicting the life of St. John. This painting is not only significant in literary terms, but also holds many symbolic meanings.
