Introduction

The Arch of Titus, built in AD 81, is one of the oldest surviving arches in Rome. It was built to commemorate Titus' brother Domitian and father Vespasian's suppression of the Jewish rebellion. Unlike other triumphal arches, the Arch of Titus has a relatively simple façade with no obvious reliefs.
