Introduction

In 1997, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, designed by American architect Frank Gehry, stunned the world and became one of the most anticipated masterpieces in the field of architecture. The museum covers an area of 24,000 square meters, of which 11,000 square meters are used for exhibition space, with a total of 19 exhibition rooms, one of which is the largest art gallery in the world, measuring 130 meters by 30 meters in size. The structural design of the entire museum was gradually created by the architect using a set of aerodynamic computer software called CATIA. Glass, steel, limestone and titanium were widely used in the construction materials, which complemented the long-standing shipbuilding industry tradition of Bilbao. The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is renowned for its unique shape, distinctive structure and innovative materials, making it a masterpiece of urban poetry and a representative of future architecture, similar to the Sydney Opera House.
