Introduction

Albayzin is a district in Granada that has well-preserved medieval Moorish streets. In 1984, it was inscribed as a World Heritage Site along with the famous Alhambra palace. Albayzin is located on a small hill facing the Alhambra palace, so many tourists come here to admire the palace from the viewpoint of the St. Nicholas Church. Highlights of the district include the Arab baths, Granada Archaeological Museum, and the Savior Church built on the site of a Moorish mosque. Additionally, Albayzin has many authentic Moorish houses and various restaurants, including North African snack shops on several streets.
