Introduction

Plaza de España, located on the edge of Maria Luisa Park, was originally built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. The semicircular plaza, designed by Seville architect Aníbal González, has a diameter of 200 meters and is composed of three buildings surrounding the perimeter of the plaza. Many beautiful bridges span the moat and lead to the central fountain. Today, the plaza is mainly composed of government buildings with niches representing the different provinces of Spain, where tourists can take photos. The plaza also features a variety of architectural styles including gothic, moorish, and silversmith, and visitors interested in Seville's archaeology or folklore can visit the Archaeological and Folklore Museums located on the plaza.
