Introduction

Descalzas Reales convent, also known as the Royal Barefoot convent, is a royal convent located in Madrid. The convent was founded in 1559 by Joanna of Austria, the regent queen of Spain. Since 1960, part of the convent has been open to the public as a museum. Due to the lack of disturbance, the convent's displayed craftsmanship has achieved a high level. Welcome to visit.
