Introduction

The Galata Tower is a landmark building in Istanbul, which has been standing here since the 6th century AD. However, it was destroyed during the 13th century Crusades and was later rebuilt by the Genoese in the 14th century. This historic tower has served as a watchtower, prison, and even an observatory throughout its turbulent past. Today, visitors are more likely to climb to the top of the 67-meter tower to enjoy the magnificent views of the city. The Blue Mosque in the Old City is another beautiful classic.
