Introduction

This street is located in the city center on the north shore of the Golden Horn Bay in Istanbul, and is one of the main streets here. In the 19th century, the district was called Pera, so the street is also known as Pera Avenue. It was once a gathering place for Christians, including Greeks, Armenians, and European immigrants, as well as embassies from various countries. It played an important role in the political, economic, and cultural life of Istanbul and the Ottoman Empire. Nowadays, many famous buildings and institutions still cling to this street, such as churches, consulates, hotels, and more. In recent years, the Istanbul government has revitalized it, making it an important commercial street and the largest pedestrian street in the city. It has many shopping centers, bookstores, food and entertainment facilities, and is warmly welcomed by locals and foreign tourists. In the evening, there are also various bars here, making it a good place for young people to socialize.
