The St. Nicholas Church, built in the 18th century, stands in the center of the square. There is also a huge statue of the national hero Fran Salei, as well as some small cityscapes, fountains, and sculptures, but these are relatively new. Today, the city square is one of the main tourist attractions in Ljubljana, attracting visitors from all over the world.
