Introduction

Preacher's Rock is the most famous tourist attraction in Lysefjord, boasting an incredible height of 604 meters and a cliff of over 30 meters, making it breathtakingly beautiful. Every year, hundreds of thousands of tourists come to visit, overlooking Lysefjord and enjoying the beautiful scenery. The rock has a flat area of ​​about 600 square meters. The hiking trail leading to Preacher's Rock is 3.8 kilometers long, with a 330-meter uphill section and prominent red T-shaped markings along the way. The entire hike takes about 4-5 hours and is of moderate difficulty. It is the perfect place to admire the beauty of Lysefjord.

Due to snow accumulation on the mountain, it is recommended to visit between May and October.
Transportation
You can choose to drive there yourself or take a ferry from Fiskepiren Ferry Terminal to Tau during the summer, then transfer to a shuttle bus to the starting point of the climb at Preikestolen Mountain Lodge. The ferry generally operates from mid-April to September, with 8-16 daily departures on weekdays and about 10-11 on Saturdays and Sundays. The ferry and bus tickets cost around 250 NOK and can be purchased directly on board. You can also choose to stay one night at the lodge (approximately 300 NOK per person per night including breakfast) and climb Preikestolen Mountain the next day.
