Introduction

Upon entering the Pile Gate in the old town, almost everyone is drawn to the great Onofrio's Fountain. Designed by 15th-century architect Onofrio della Cava, this fountain marks the completion of a 12km water supply plan that brought water to the city from Rijeka Dubrovacka. Unfortunately, the fountain suffered serious damage during the earthquake of 1667. Today, it is a famous attraction in the city of Dubrovnik where tourists visit and young people and travelers relax.
