Introduction

Porvoo is located about 50 kilometers from the Finnish capital Helsinki, and can be reached within an hour. It is one of Finland's six medieval towns and the first "town" recognized in Finland. The city was established in 1346 and witnessed Finland's history being alternately occupied by Sweden and Russia. In Porvoo, there is also a palace left by the Russian Tsar, which is worth seeing. The town's name comes from the Porvoonjoki River, and the red wooden houses are arranged along the riverbank, making it a popular candidate for the World Heritage Site. The city center is dominated by a cathedral with a medieval stone slab inside, which was destroyed in a fire in 2006 but still exists. The official Chinese website of Porvoo is http://www.porvoo.fi/boerwo-huan-ying-ni and the official Chinese WeChat account is VisitPorvoo.
